Ethics and Compliance

Whether or not your organization is subject to the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) * or Sarbanes-Oxley (SOx) ethics requirements, it is crucial, in today’s workplace, to foster a business environment that is ethical, respectful, honest, and safe. A comprehensive ethics program helps your organization to comply with legal requirements and, just as important, it protects your business.

A successful ethics and compliance program must be driven by core business objectives and embraced by senior management. It must go beyond compliance and be the direct outcome of a values-based corporate culture.  A well-designed ethics program can help your company to:

  1. Identify the boundaries of ethical behavior,
  2. Ensure that your employees are aware of ethical standards and your expectations  for appropriate conduct,
  3. Integrate your ethics and compliance initiatives into everyday business practices,
  4. Engage employees in promoting and safeguarding an environment of integrity,
  5. Encourage employees to make principled decisions and report concerns of inappropriate actions without fear of retaliation, snf
  6. Respond quickly and appropriately once an ethics issue is identified to minimize any negative impact on the organization.

Developing a strong open culture of accountability, integrity and trust is the backbone to a strong ethics program and will have a profound impact on corporate performance.  Requiring accountability and ownership places responsibility on individuals for their actions and motivates everyone.

Your ethics and compliance program should continuously evolve as your organization changes to ensure that it embeds effective ethics risk management processes into your standard business practices.  Recognizing potential problem areas and protecting against negative consequences will help you prevent, prepare for, and respond to ethics and other compliance issues.

To ensure that you have a strong business ethics and compliance program tailored to meet your company’s needs, Workplace Dynamics can assist you in developing:

  1. An ethics and compliance policy,
  2. A comprehensive code of ethics,
  3. Ethics guidelines and training for all levels of management,
  4. An employee  training program,

  6. Practical reporting and investigating procedures, snf
  7. Procedures for creating a risk management program for ongoing monitoring and enforcement.
