The elaws® (Employment Laws Assistance for Workers and Small Businesses) advisors interactive tools provide both employees and employers with information pertaining to federal employment laws.

The Department of Labor (DOL) has updated its elaws® website (http://www.dol.gov/elaws/) to include the following:

Assists the user in determining if they fulfill the requirements of the visa program.  The user answers questions and the tool outlines notification requirements, costs, worksite issues, recordkeeping, worker protections and other requirements for employers to be deemed to be H-1B dependent or willful violators.

Explains the rights of union members, candidates of union officer elections, responsibilities of union officers and others involved in conducting elections as prescribed by the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act of 1959.

Helps employers identify which federal disability nondiscrimination laws apply to their organizations.  Also, assists recipients of federal financial assistance understand their responsibilities.

Assists Veterans, Service Members, their familities and caregivers to find web-based information on topoics such as education, job training, employment, benefits and compensation, family and caregiver support, health, housing, homeless assistance, transportation and travel.  The tool provides access to more than 11,000 national, state, and local services and resources.
